If you've been following along my rarely updated blog,  :), you know that I've been participating in a 12 month project where a group of photographers from all over come together and share their viewpoint on a singular topic. This is the final topic of the year and how appropriate that we end with CELEBRATE!!

So this month is another personal post because nobody can celebrate like my little brother Andy. He is always full of such joy and love and always is down for a good hug. He visited me here in good ol' Wesley Chapel for Christmas and showed us all how to celebrate even the little things!

Here are a few photos of him opening his Christmas presents this year.. If you know me, I am NOT a raver, so his reactions put me to shame. We should all be so free with our feelings! and ps... clearly I keep the air conditioning on too low.. hence the blankets haha

Wesley Chapel Family Photographer {Comfort}

If you've been following my blog you know I've been participating in the Twelve by Twelve Project, which is a blog circle with some amazing photographers. This month's topic is comfort.

Wesley Chapel Family Child Lifestyle Photographer

I remember as a child that there was no place like my mom's comfy bed! And its so fun to watch my kids feel the same way. Whether mom and dad are in bed or not, for some reason their mattress, pillows and blankets are just so much softer!

We just recently moved from Tampa to Wesley Chapel and making sure my kids find comfort and security in a new place is so important to me! Bringing along our well-loved "stuffies" certainly helped!

As we are adjusting life in a new city and a new home, I'm trying to find time to photograph more of "us" and who we are on a daily basis. I'm also doing more of that in my work. Its got a cool hip name  Lifestyle Family Photography, which basically means capturing who are are, where you are!

"Us" {Tampa, Florida Wedding Photographer}

If you follow me on facebook, you may have seen me announce a blog circle that I am a part of for 2015 called the Twelve by Twelve Project. It is a group of 12 wonderful photographers who are sharing a journey of growth and sharing in 2015. Our first monthly topic is "US." Please join us not only in following each of our blogs, but we would love to have you join in! I can't wait to see the amazing things 2015 brings!

For What Binds Us

There are names for what binds us:

strong forces, weak forces.

Look around, you can see them:

the skin that forms in a half-empty cup,

nails rusting into the places they join,

joints dovetailed on their own weight.

The way things stay so solidly

wherever they've been set down—

and gravity, scientists say, is weak.

And see how the flesh grows back

across a wound, with a great vehemence,

more strong

than the simple, untested surface before.

There's a name for it on horses,

when it comes back darker and raised: proud flesh,

as all flesh,

is proud of its wounds, wears them

as honors given out after battle,

small triumphs pinned to the chest—

And when two people have loved each other

see how it is like a

scar between their bodies,

stronger, darker, and proud;

how the black cord makes of them a single fabric

that nothing can tear or mend.
